Traditionally this fire retardant 'skin' wadding was manufactured with 100% cotton but it is now made using using wool aramid fibres and coated with a fine nonwoven fabric on both sides. A soft, glossy material, it is typically used between the calico and the top fabric and/or as a barrier to prevent hair or fibre from sticking through your upholstery.
